How the matching works
Every school in our database is evaluated across 6 weighted scoring dimensions plus 2 hard filters. Weights shift based on the priorities you set in the quiz — so your results are uniquely yours.
Budget Fit
Compares avg net price against your annual budget. Scores higher when tuition is well within your range.
Academic Programs
Matches your chosen academic directions (e.g. Engineering, Business) against the school's offered programs.
Graduation Rate
Schools with higher 4- or 6-year graduation rates score better. A key signal of student success.
Acceptance Rate
Aligned to your Reach / Match / Safety preference. Selective schools score high for Reach seekers, accessible ones for Safety.
Campus Setting
Urban, suburban, or rural — schools that match your preferred environment score full marks on this dimension.
School Size
Small, medium, or large enrollment. Matched against your size preference from the quiz.
Location
State preferences and in-state-only flags are applied as hard filters before scoring begins — not a soft score.
Cost Cap
If you enable the hard budget cap, schools above your limit are removed entirely before ranking starts.
